Vintage European Watch Discussion Forum

Hello. I am seeking information about an old watch I found in 1982. I found this on the 4th of July at a back yard party. I told friends about the watch, but it was never claimed. I have had this for thirty seven years. I recently started to think about this watch and wondered more about this old watch. I took to a local watch shop and they help me a little. Here is what they told me. This is a Girard- Perregaux watch . The shop estimated that this is late 40’s to early 50’s vintage. The serial number is 410077, 10 carrot and 17 jewels. The gentle men who helped me took the back off and looked inside. They think it was last worked on in 1981, due to small inscription. Can you help me identify type of GP, correct age, cost when new and current price. It works just fine. Thank you.
