Hi there. I was hoping you might be able to give me some advice or point me in the right direction. My 30th Birthday is coming up and to celebrate I would like to get a watch to mark the occasion. I have decided I would like to buy a vintage Rolex or Omega. My favorite new Rolex models are the Explorer and the Submariner. I like the idea of the Submariner best with it being functional and sporty but the face is too big for my slim wrist. I have heard the older submariners are smaller. I would appreciate it if you could recommend suitable models and years of watches that might be a good fit for me. Only other info I want to add is that I don’t think I would want the watch to be too old (no older than 80s) as I plan to use this watch most days so don’t want the watch to be too delicate. Thank you for your time.

If you have a smaller wrist, I would look at the 36mm Explorer ref. 114270 or the older ref. 14270. This is the one I have for my smaller wrist and it's fits well with the bracelet but I think it looks, fits and feels much better on a leather strap.

Thank you. I will be sure to check them out now. What are your thoughts on the Oyster Perpetual? I know you can get a 36 new model. are there any good vintage models that are worth checking out?

Honestly, I'm not a big Rolex fan. The Explorer, Milgauss and Air King are the only models I really look at and they are all pretty close in style. I haven't really researched the Oyster Perpetual but I imagine that the 36mm would fit the same as the Explorer.

This '80s ref. 1002 is quite different, and nice. 34mm case size.
