Small Rose Designation on Tudors
Small Rose Designation on Tudors
What is the meaning of the small rose designation compared to the larger rose on Tudor watches? Thanks in advance!
Re: Small Rose Designation on Tudors
The Rose was the symbol of the Tudor dynasty and you may find more information here - https://www.tudorwatch.com/born-to-dare
“Someday, and that day may never come, I’ll call upon you to do a service for me. But, until that day, accept this justice as a gift”
Re: Small Rose Designation on Tudors
I could be mistaken but I believe the difference is not in the size of the Rose but between the early Tudor Rose & Shield emblem and just the later Rose emblem without the shield.
When "The Tudor" brand was transferred back to Hans Wilsdorf in 1936, the Tudor Dynasty Rose within a shield was inscribed on the watch dials as it signified the invincible union of strength. About 10 years later, the Rose and Shield was replaced with just the Todor Rose.
