Seamaster Year

#1 Post by modernart1987 » Mon Aug 22, 2016 5:04 am

Hello folks,

I recently begun my vintage watch journey and I am hoping somebody can help me please?

Trying to place a date on the below piece that was handed down to me, really intrigued to learn more of the movement etc...

Any help would be grand :)

Thanks.

The case reference number is 166.0209:

This corresponds to a day/date watch with a similar movement, and possibly the same case was used for both. That was very common for Omega in the late 1970's.

This is likely the movement in your watch:

According to Omega, this was part of the 1978 collection.

Hope this helps,

Beautiful watch. The case back says gold plated 20 microns but the case is not plated. Is this OK ?
