For those of us who admire Illinois watches and/or collect them, and are eager to have new information -- especially about such rare models as the Greyhound. Maybe you have some photos of the one you say you sold to "sologracia"?

I wouldn't do that to one of my buyers. I'm outta here. Have a nice day and if anyone comes in with a Greyhound, send them my way!

There are at least 4 others on this forum that would be notified first. Posting a pic of a watch you claim to have owned doesn't betray your buyer.

Geez, what a moron you are. Claimed to have own? I don't really care what you believe. This tag game is over, and as stated, this conversation is over, so get over it, go to another. Have a nice evening.

Hmmm... I sold a greyhound to sologracia, and I seen a superb example sell that I just about got.

ah, there's got to be more out there

Actually, I would not be surprised at all if sologracia has one. I know he has bought and sold a lot of very nice Illinois WWs over the years. But, for FULL disclosure, the last time he had one available for sale the word "Grayhound" was spelled wrong, and it was also a slightly incorrect and recently redone dial. That said, over the years John has pulled a TON of great stuff from Vicki's sock drawer! So much, that I wonder if there is any room there for her socks!? :D

He got no takers on the listing Rick mentioned ($299.99 BIN or Best Offer) but relisted it (yet again) and finally sold it on September 25 for a $110.00 BIN (much more realistic).

EEEEEEK, that "Beau Monde" is back to haunt us! Same watch: check it out against the original post on p. 3 of this thread and you'll see the same serial number on the movement as well as the same un-kosher case. A "rare" watch for some unsuspecting buyer now that the holiday season is here.

Very good catch B!
I saw that on the swamp and thought... oh no.
For all you folks who see this one... it is NOT a rare variation
TT Beau. It seems this is a mix matched YGF and WGF
Case and bezel combo.
Knowledge of this will prevent someone coming on here
With their new "rare" watch.

G

Have I lost my mind or is this ANOTHER TT
Beau with a mismatched bezel combo?!?
YGF BEZEL/WGF BACK

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Illinois-M ... SwnHZYiq3l

I think the caseback serial number is different than the other example on this thread.

:o

No, Greg, you're not losing your mind -- I saw this case last night and wondered whether this was another appearance of the earlier one or yet another unholy "wedding." When I compared the serial numbers in the case backs, I found they were different (this one is 59608, the earlier one was 59061). The dials also appear to be different specimens.

With two-tone Illinois, it will be the midcase part that's a different color from the rest of the case -- NOT a bezel of a different color from the midcase and case back, right? It always pays to be careful . . .

Thanks B!
I thought I was going a bit nuts (more than I already am)
You really don't see folks doing this often... every couple of years or so
something like this pops up. But to see 2 examples in a matter of weeks with a YGF bezel
and WGF middle and back, VERY strange.

You are very right on the combo. The back/bezel colors will be the same and the center different.
There are normally, roman numerals carved into the inside of the bezel and this has to match the last numbers
of the serial number on the caseback (and if there is one on center too) for TT status to be correct.

Same exact watch, 2 of the exact same combination :?
