I'm not quite sure what your latest post means. Perhaps you're referring to the fact that, along with the other parts you're selling separately for that otherwise white GF Beau Monde, your listing for the yellow GF bezel includes a photo of the underside as well as one of the front?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Illinois-Beau-Monde-Gest-Yellow-Gold-Plated-Bezel-Only-/262606503919?hash=item3d24913fef:g:m8MAAOSwFdtXydIY

To my eyes, at least, the picture of the underside looks too dark to tell what if any markings appear on it. Maybe someone else will have better luck. (Rick? Greg?)

Quite hard to believe someone would make a copy of the bezel.

The point is not to imply that this bezel is a copy of anything, but instead that it is a bezel for some other Beau Monde/Beau Geste, not the one whose other case parts you have in your two other listings (you originally presented these three parts as being for one watch). As Fred Friedberg, the acknowledged authority on Illinois watches, pointed out earlier in the thread (back on page 3), " This model never came in this color/case configuration . Illinois never offered a model with a yellow bezel and a white center and white case back. Someone apparently put the bezel from a YGF model on to this WGF case."

From what I can tell from his last book, there are 3 known examples of
the Greyhound on the planet... NONE have ever been photographed or shown
to the public. I believe Fred MAY have one in the book to show...
HOW COOL would that be?!?

It is supposed to have a Skyway case with a Porcelain dial marked
"Illinois Greyhound"

We shall see!!!

For those of us who admire Illinois watches and/or collect them, and are eager to have new information -- especially about such rare models as the Greyhound. Maybe you have some photos of the one you say you sold to "sologracia"?

I wouldn't do that to one of my buyers. I'm outta here. Have a nice day and if anyone comes in with a Greyhound, send them my way!

There are at least 4 others on this forum that would be notified first. Posting a pic of a watch you claim to have owned doesn't betray your buyer.

Geez, what a moron you are. Claimed to have own? I don't really care what you believe. This tag game is over, and as stated, this conversation is over, so get over it, go to another. Have a nice evening.

Actually, I would not be surprised at all if sologracia has one. I know he has bought and sold a lot of very nice Illinois WWs over the years. But, for FULL disclosure, the last time he had one available for sale the word "Grayhound" was spelled wrong, and it was also a slightly incorrect and recently redone dial. That said, over the years John has pulled a TON of great stuff from Vicki's sock drawer! So much, that I wonder if there is any room there for her socks!? :D

He got no takers on the listing Rick mentioned ($299.99 BIN or Best Offer) but relisted it (yet again) and finally sold it on September 25 for a $110.00 BIN (much more realistic).

EEEEEEK, that "Beau Monde" is back to haunt us! Same watch: check it out against the original post on p. 3 of this thread and you'll see the same serial number on the movement as well as the same un-kosher case. A "rare" watch for some unsuspecting buyer now that the holiday season is here.
