Depollier- Finally Back

#1 Post by GJH » Wed Nov 28, 2018 11:44 am

It was a long time on this restoration, but finally got my Depollier
back and running strong. These are incredibly difficult to work on
and this one was no exception. Thanks for the nice job Jesse.

Thanks folks!

The problem with the Depollier has always been the crown and the stem.
The original "Sealant" around the crown was a cork like
substance that pressed around the stem sleeve when tightened.
This would rot out over time and moisture would get in and cause chaos.
Jesse replaced the cork with modern rubber gasket and it is much better.
Still not going to be scuba diving with it anytime soon!

Thanks for the explanation, Greg. I'm always looking for a Depollier I can afford. It's good to know what kind of project I'll be getting into. Joel

Very nice model. I saw this model the first time in Fred's web. Like other Illinois dificult to find and very expensive for me.

Congrats.
