certainly on the low end of movements (one jewel maybe).

But, a cool that it looks like the watchmaker hand wrote on the back plate
“Someday, and that day may never come, I’ll call upon you to do a service for me. But, until that day, accept this justice as a gift”

The movement appears to be a Bettlach non-jeweled pin lever.

The hand scribed import data was fairly common directly after WW2, when there was huge demand for watches in the USA. These are watches that were originally made for European markets, so they had no maker-stamped import information. Enterprising importers would bring in any and all watches that they could get their hands on, and hand scribe the necessary data, which included jewel count, adjustments, and the importers name.

Nice looking watch, and the Bettlach movements are generally quite rugged.

Carl, that thing is really cool looking! I love the strap, and if you ever replaced it, I would try to get one that looks similar. I love the buttons on it.
