New Generation of Vintage Collectors

While attending a graduation party recently I had conversation with a young watch collector and his dad. He told me he had many watches but sadly "all 4 of them" were broken.
"Wow 4 watches", I told him 4 watches is a good start and that I knew the perfect watch for him since he was a Boy Scout. So I added a new NATO style strap and gave the movement a tune up. Off it went out in the mail.
First pic is the model I sent but not the actual one.
Second pic is an excerpt of his note back to me. So who knows, maybe one day he will be posting on the internet about how he got started with vintage watch collecting.

hmm...good point.... each will present challenges!

I can advise him on the watch part but the other....he will have to experience for his own

Actually, my favourite bit in his letter is "I cannot believe it's from 1971, it looks so professional"

Then again, my 5yo daughter refers to the 70's (my childhood) as 'in the Olden Days '

Very cool. I have given some watches to my friends kids in hopes they will start an appreciation for them.
