Re: December Incoming

Fresh in from the local estate buyer and after a little cleaning and polish - Bulova, Hamilton and Gruen Bulova was running but missing the crystal. I trimmed down a barrel shaped NOS from the parts bin as a replacement. Looks nice and seems to be keeping time nicely. Hamilton was starting and stopp...

Re: Wristwear for 12/15/13 -12/21/13

Nothing grand, but a sentimental favorite: my deceased grandfather's Timex. I would suggest it is quite grand! As it happens I just finished this one yesterday. Season Finale - Dr. Bill Masters - What watch was he wearing

Caught the season finale of Masters of Sex which recounts the famous "Masters and Johnson" on ShowTime last night. One scene has Dr. Masters checking the time on his wristwatch just before entering a lecture that starts at 3 o'clock. So what was he wearing? Yes a Waltham and it is set exactly at 3 o...

Re: 14K Gold Omega - year? fake?

Hi guys, I just found this watch inside one of my granddad's boxes he kept in our basement. He used to live in Switzerland in the 1940's, so maybe that's when he bought it? If you guys have any clues, whether it's a real or fake omega, if it's from the 40's, 50's... Please share! Thanks for your he...

There will always been another one or something else that will come along. This is key except for the scarcest of models and is the reason I've learned to be patient for years to get some of them. Though with the Vega and 14K Barrel I am currently selling, there will NEVER be another of either.... ...

Re: EBay Psychology 201 -- bidder shenanigans LOL

When I really want to win something I just place my high bid near the end of auction and hope its enough to with stand the final seconds. If I don;t win at least I know I gave it my best. There will always been another one or something else that will come along.

Re: Pocket Watch Collectors

My collecting began with having my grandfathers Waltham pocket watch past on to me. It is among the few that will never be sold off from my timepiece collection. Here are some of what I have currently. Like my grandfather, I only have American made pocket watches. Waltham, New York Standard, Elgin, ...
