Re: Anyone Seen One of These Before?

Hi Martin: I thought we might hear from you! there are little white spots on the back of the box? Yes, there are spots on the bottom of the box which I will shoot for us. They are beige and very slightly raised: I speculate that they are flaws or remnants from the cream boxes — perhaps the same mold...

Re: Anyone Seen One of These Before?

That's an amazing find. Can only speculate as to it's origins. Perhaps an award watch from a company that wanted something special? I used to be a bakelite and catalin tube radio collector, so I am fairly confident this is made of those same materials, based on the heft, "brittle" snap sound when closing, and most tellingly, the "waves" or "ripples" or "veins" in the finish, which I hope ...

Anyone Seen One of These Before?

When I saw it on eBay, I initially assumed someone had painted one of the traditional Hamilton boxes. But upon closer look, I thought I recognized the distinctive phenolic resin sheen, so I bought it, just so I could have a look up-close. Turns out it is indeed a green Bakelite/Plaskon/Catalin men's...

Re: Hamilton 600 Cape Horn Aquadate Crystal #?

Assuming that the super compressor case is the same as used on the Lip Nautic Ski, I would imagine you could use the Lip crystal as listed on eBay. Just a thought... https://www.ebay.com/itm/REAL-Glass-for-watch-LIP-NAUTIC-ski-New/400238643476?hash=item5d30150914:g:d9gAAMXQAI9SKKXy Wow, 34 negative...

IS&T folk don't like to read documentation :) we just write it to confuse end users.

The eBay folks must be masters, because the policy could not be more confusing!
