Re: Compulsive Solid Gold Hamilton Buckle Questions

Susan, I have seen 10K stamped ones, and assume they are 10K solid gold. AFIAK all unstamped (as to gold content) ones are plated or gf. Adam, can you clarify for me: You have seen 10K stamped buckles with matching stamped tangs (tongues)? I know that there are 10K stamped buckles, but I am trying ...

Compulsive Solid Gold Hamilton Buckle Questions

Hey Team: I know that at some point (1940s? 1950s?) Hamilton had solid stamped 14K buckles that included stamped tangs, then apparently moved on to 14K buckles without stamped tangs. Does anyone know if the unstamped tangs on those were still 14K, but just not marked? Or did Hamilton stop making the...

I notice that the patent number seems to relate to the hinge design, dated 1931
Is this similar to the more commonly seen watch boxes?
My ivory colored boxes have all the same numbers.

Re: Locating Replacement Parts for my Chrono-matic, calibre 11

My Chrono-Matic A just came back from 7 months with a supposed high-end (read: expensive) watchmaker with "experience" with these models. Told me it was all fixed and ready to go. Was returned with exactly the same issues it originally had, PLUS new problems, not the least of which is that he incorr...

Re: Anyone Seen One of These Before?

Okay, so forgive the photo overkill, but here are some additional shots that I think confirm the box is original factory green resin. Let me know what you think. . . . This one, for me, is conclusive. Rough edge chip showing that the green color is not only on the surface: chip.10.jpg And here, in t...
