Re: Caution to eBay Sellers re Item Condition

Thanks for the heads-up on this. You are welcome. Crazy, isn't it? I am not at all surprised that you didn't get anywhere on the phone with eBay, but hats off to you for trying, LOL. I would never have noticed the change they made to the wristwatch Pre-Owned definition it hadn't been brought up by ...

Re: Caution to eBay Sellers re Item Condition

This is not quite right but, it is closer since it states that there are issues. I would rather it be called As Is \ found. For parts or not working - Mo, that description would indeed be fine, but it is not an option in the Wristwatch category — there is no "For Parts/Not Working" dropdown there. ...

Yes, Susan, I misunderstood your question, obviously! Rene's answer makes perfect sense.

Re: Compulsive Solid Gold Hamilton Buckle Questions

So, in conclusion, whether the buckle was solid 10K or 14K gold, Hamilton did not often stamp the buckle tangs ("pins"/"tongues") with the gold composition.

Re: Compulsive Solid Gold Hamilton Buckle Questions

Susan, when you say “when Hamilton downgraded to 10K”, I don’t think it was a downgrade, I think it was to match 10K solid gold buckles with 10K solid gold cases especially in the 1950s when there were a lot of 10K solid gold Hamiltons. Oh, I didn't mean that Hamilton downgraded and put 10K buckles...

Re: Compulsive Solid Gold Hamilton Buckle Questions

I checked in with Rene on my buckle and tang (pin) questions. He gave me permission to copy his responses here. (His responses are in red.) Thanks again, Rene! 1) Some solid 14K gold Hamilton buckles have matching stamped 14K tangs, but Hamilton also released many solid gold 14K buckles without stam...
