Re: 1959 Timex Display - Assortment #53

Up and running! - I notched a hex nut and soldered some spring wire to it. As the motor turns the wire slips over the lever and slowly pushes it down.

1959 Timex Display - Assortment #53

Do I really need another vintage Timex display ot go along with the 5 I already have? That was the question I asked myself a few days ago when I spotted one that has an automated portion to show the watches are "Shock Proof". Oh yeah, I need this one and besides I already have the 1959 catalog page ...

Re: Timex Black Max And Hooded Lugs

Timex sizes were 11/16 and 3/4 inch mostly so the use of metric sized bands will present issues at times. By going with a metal band you have the option to file and or grind the end caps down to better fit.

Re: Timex Black Max And Hooded Lugs

I suggest a black metal band such as the one used on the "Coke Bezel" Sport Series Diver of 1980. What is important is that the end be flat and have a tapered styling to complement the curve of the case.

Re: Who makes this watch and how do I operate it

Is there some kind of general owners manual for this kind of watch? no. but they all follow a logical pattern. select "mode" - 'increment" - "set" - "repeat" - or some such order as that. example: date, day, hours, minutes or some such sequence. If you really want a challenge, try setting a Casio G...
