Re: Hello, my name is Jamie and I have a (Timex) addiction.

The first challenge with maintaining US Time watches from the early years is that the #21 movement was discontinued and replaced by the #22. And no you can't swap a #22 into a #21 :( Some of the distinct features of the #21 are the brass colored bridged and the square tipped stem. While servicing th...

New England Watch Co - Yes or No?

Here is my latest project, a restore of a New England Watch Co key wind. What intrigued me about this particular watch was that the company name falls within the time line of Timex. (Waterbury - New England - Ingersoll - U S Time - Timex) But it is not a true New England piece, rather it is a Swiss ...

Re: Seeking Information about Longines Pocket Watch-Please Identify

given the small crown style, I'd say 1960's. But, you are going to have to up up the back to determine the serial numbers and to see if the gold or gold filled.

The chain should also be checked for gold or gold filled. Should be a stamping at the ends.

Re: Waltham Model 1877 & case

It's been some time wince I had a swing out case but, I don't think the stem is broken off. Rather the stem sleeve and crown are missing from the case. Have a look here for a picture which is much like the one you show- http://sparegoggles.forumotion.net/t112-pocket-watch-repair and do some searches...

Re: Late April Fools

Can I brag that I've cut my lawn 3 times so far this spring and the daffodils are almost spent, the rhodos are starting to bloom and one of my azaleas is in full bloom or should I just say yikes? Oh, and should I mention I was skiing on Saturday and actually thought about a round of golf all in the...

Re: Seeking Information on Longines Pocket Watch

I found the serial number dates the watch to about 1909. About one year ago I had a similar Longines cased in silver. Very elegant movement, it was a commission piece and sold for about $250.00 Had it been cased in 14k gold it would have fetch more. Hope that helps you some and perhaps another membe...
