Re: Say goodbye to the NOS Blade

I confronted that dilemma fairly often in my career. I always loved NOS watches and I collected a lot of them. I was always flabbergasted when I'd sell one and the buyer would opt to wear it. What makes these watches so special is that they are one in what, a thousand? More like ten thousand. I con...

Re: Say goodbye to the NOS Blade

So true. I stopped by here to get some help with my grandfathers watch some 300+ watches ago. I now have a watch room full of parts, tools, books and watches. "It's not my fault, I caught a disease." I'll have to try that line on my wife. Lol You might want to be very careful when you tell your wif...

Re: My first Illinois

My first Illinois was an nice WGF Marquic I bought from Fred about 13 years ago. And, BTW, did I just read a suggestion from Greg to use an Exacto knife to open a watch case? LOL, just about the LAST THING I would EVER use to open up a watch is an Exacto!!! (In large part because I have had the ple...

Please see this: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f25/i-thin ... 42357.html

If your watch is now moving oddly, I wonder if the thick 395 battery is somehow causing stress on the movement? I'd try to find a 371 and see if the problem persists.

Re: Illinois Ensign - Progress at last

Ensign crystals come up often -- you will find one. A correct white 3/0 crown will likely be harder, or at least for me they are. I own a few thousand vintage crowns -- but I can never seem to locate a correct/proper white crown when I need it.

Re: 1944 Omega 2325/5 - HELP IDENTIFY VALUE

Where did you get it? What did you pay for it? If you got it on eBay in a properly-listed auction... then the value is likely what you paid for it.

Re: vintage Speedmaster - new old stock

Bryan, It looks like a beauty! I must admit that lately I have been doing the same thing -- my daily wearer all winter was an Omega Speedmaster, and recently I've been wearing one of 3 early Seiko diver watches (6105, 6309, 6309) that I purchased over the winter. I must say that they are all pretty ...
