Re: Timex Southampton Inspired Todd Snyder Beekman

Update: I found this other photo of the "white dial" version on the Todd Snyder site. It looks like they actually nailed the original dial color.

Timex Southampton Inspired Todd Snyder Beekman

Anyone see the new Timex Todd Snyder collaboration? They call it the Beekman. It's a quartz timepiece inspired by the Timex Southampton and includes its iconic spiral tachymeter and outer dial telemeter scales. It comes in a white and a black dial version like the original (although I think that the...

Re: Timex Black Max And Hooded Lugs

Great suggestion and awesome collection pics, JerseyMo. I'll start shopping for a tapering black metal band. I'm hoping that the lug width isn't the hard to find 17mm like so many of my vintage Timex watches. The leather band I put on is 18mm, but as I recall needed a bit of compression to fit.

Re: Timex Black Max And Hooded Lugs

While we're on the subject, here are two YouTube videos featuring the Timex Black Max. I'm surprised that I could only come up with two videos about this watch, which I think was one of Timex's best looking designs. The second video link to the original Timex commercial was uploaded months ago by an...

Timex Black Max And Hooded Lugs

One of my favorite Timex mechanical watches is the Timex Black Max. I've been trying to give my Black Max some more wrist time by switching out the band, but the hooded lugs make it a little challenging as some straps (NATOs for instance) just don't look right. I usually have it on the rubber/resin ...

For anyone interested, here are a couple of YouTube videos and an article from Esquire regarding the Marlin Blackout:

Re: Timex Marlin Blackout

That's interesting information, JerseyMo. So with this reissued model, I'm guessing that they put on the numbers just for nostalgia rather than reflecting the actual case color, movement, and year. Still a nice touch though. Thanks for catching the flub with the watch name I put out with my pictures...

Re: Timex Marlin Blackout

By the way, just like the vintage Timex Marlins, the Marlin Blackout has the catalog and movement/year series of numbers at the bottom of the dial's 6 o'clock position.

It reads "20242465"

Re: Timex Marlin Blackout

It's here! My Timex Blackout from Todd Snyder arrived today. It is a sweet watch. Everything lines up well and the watch started running with the very first wind. It's been about 6 hours now and it doesn't seem to have gained or lost any time. I'll track it more closely this weekend, but I'm just en...

Re: Timex Marlin Blackout

Thanks, JerseyMo. I haven't come across many with intact time rings so I'll be on the lookout. Those old catalogs are a great tool for sorting and refining collections.
