I tried again, trying to push it further in, but no, that doesn't seem to be the problem. As for the back, the movement is obscuring what the pin does, and I lack the tools and skill to remove it. I'm attaching a photo. As you can see it's not a typical pin-set. You have the word 'lever' on the face...

I'm still a bit of a newbie at this. I bid on and won my first pin set piece, a Swiss-made pocket watch. If I turn the crown, it winds as you would expect. If I depress the pin and turn the crown, it turns freely (no winding), but the hands do not move. That does mean something's wrong and it's in n...
