DIY Mainspring Winder

Hi folks. I rather rushed into buying a set of antique 'Bergeon Style' mainspring winders on ebay. When I came to use them, I found that there was virtually no hook on any of the winders to pick up the spring. Just a tiny stump that did nothing at all. Re: Buying a vintage staking set

I am hoping that most of the text will also be applicable to the vintage Boley set.

Well worth the money to shorten the learning curve. Phew. Good to know. Thanks. The seller has also thrown in, free of charge...

Buying a vintage staking set

Hi. I am just putting together my list of essential tools, and was wondering about a staking set. There do seem to be a few used ones on eBay. Re: Will any 16s movement fit into the same case?

Thanks Jerry. You are a star. That is just what I needed to know. At least I now have the option of upgrading the movement.

Many thanks,

Ray

Will any 16s movement fit into the same case?

Hi. I managed to drop my 1918 silver Waltham, and it has stopped running. I am beginning to think it might be more economical to swap in a working movement rather than pay out for a repair. So, I was wondering whether I could buy any 16s Waltham movement as the replacement? My existing Dennison open...
