WTB (long shot) Dial for 6518

For a few years now I’ve been on the lookout for an unmolested Dial for this obscure reference (aka Oysterdate or Ritetime). I’m hoping someone on this forum might have a lead... Gilt or White with diamond or tooth arrow markers. Possibly waffle textured. If anyone has one or knows of someone who li...

That’s a lovely watch but I suspect the dial has been refinished. There are signs of paint on the sides of the hour markers and the raised coronet. It’s also incredibly clean and bright for its age...

Re: anyone know thewatchguy.com ?

A two month (+/-) turn around isn't half bad especially if you're pleased with his work. I've had much, much worse. ... it was about 14 weeks in the end. He does this as a sideline to his day job so you'd need to be flexible if you want to try him out. Very nice amiable guy on the phone. Terrible a...

Well, I took the plunge and for US$200 he restored this Pierce 3-Hander.
I think he did a lovely job...

While his service time is not fast and his email communication not great, I'm very happy with his work and the results.

I'd recommend him if you're patient.

Re: Pierce 134 chronograph repair/restoration suggestions

I found someone! A friendly and amiable chap in Texas... http://www.abellwatchmakers.com/ He wasn't scared off by the 'hard to get plastic bits' on the clutch (which were actually cork or leather originally!) . He's done a few Pierce chronos before and appears to know his craft. He turned it around ...

I'm curious to know if anyone has any experience using this guy (Kevin James) for repairs or restoration? http://www.thewatchguy.com/ His website has a lot of great materials, suggesting he knows his stuff. If anyone's used his services, I'd love to hear your experience (by PM if preferred). Thanks

Re: Pierce 134 chronograph repair/restoration suggestions

I've been looking for someone to service my Pierce Chronograph (Cal.139) for a while now. Everyone I've approached have said they can't get parts. Specifically the "plastic parts". Does anyone know what these parts are? Has anyone tried to replicate these with a 3D Printer? I'm wondering if I try to...

Re: Pierce 134 chronograph repair/restoration suggestions

I know this is an old thread but I'm looking for the same thing... I've read several places that Pierce are hard to work on, in part due to a leather washer (?) or bearing. I'm willing to ship long distance if I can find a watchmaker willing to work on it for a reasonable price. Does anyone have an...
