Re: Incoming late 30s early 40s

Sweet piece.

I very much like the extra "links" of the lugs. The extension/guard/thingies. First time seeing such a design...

Re: Boulton with Misaligned Case Marks

Have encountered a few vintage watches so far that had various elements just slightly misaligned. Had a Longines with the logo on the dial just a tad misaligned (shame to the maker). Surprised that it passed QC.

Were these hallmarks stamped/pressed with a machine or manually ?

Re: Enamel Bezel Atlantic

Very beautiful! Rectangular(ish) watches especially the early vintage ones are lovely.

Is the black area paint or onyx/something else ?

Re: New standard for eBay shipping?

Haha well this was funny and quite clever package. Improvised but still did the job.

Someone once sent me some paper posters in a plastic PVC plumbing pipe which was cut to dimensions. Oh, I also received a watch from someone (national) in a medicine box.

Now this is freaking awesome! I Like the fact that they made a strap and buckle for it as well. Talk about promoting your business!

Re: Post Your Mystery Hamiltons Here.

Could someone shed some light on the movement and perhaps case material of this ? Could it be solid gold or is it just rolled gold or something like that ? The crown is marked by the way. https://olxro-ring04.akamaized.net/images_mercadorro/172467031_3_1000x700_hamilton-genuie-colfskin-amanet-cranga...

Re: Stem won't go in Hamilton

I'm thinking that the setting lever or whatever it's called (something that holds the stem in but at the same time pivots in and out or watch keeping/time setting mode) maybe have slid off the little grove of the stem where it's supposed to stay. One way is to remove the hands and dial and work it t...

Re: Magnetized antimagnetic watch dilemma

I had an antimagnetic watch that I thought was magnetized as it had the specific signs. In reality there were problems with the hairspring. It was warped or something like that so you might want to take that into account.

Use a loupe and check the hairspring to see whether it's OK.

Re: Regretting a sale.

Had a few that made me feel a bit sad but fortunately it didn't last long.

Surprisingly some watches that I've felt sad for letting go were not rare or expensive but rather the likes of diver Citizens for example.
