Re: New Hamilton Collector

"Worthy of collecting." hmmmm.....that covers a lot of ground. I've got examples from the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's and '60's. Most from the 30's I guess. Why buy a watch? Hard to say, really. Sometimes I get an uncontrollable urge other times one will just fall into my lap. I don't go for high dollar ...

Bulova self winding 1950's - noise when winding?

Friends, I've just acquired a 1956 Bulova 23 jewel self-winding mens watch. I am NOT the least bit familiar with old self-winding watches. Retroworx, this is outstanding. As Sherlock Holmes said, "you see but you do not observe." You saw, observed and nailed it. Well done. (I'm trying to think of an excuse why I didn't see it, too)

Re: How hardcase this be???

Well done! I'm impressed and very envious. Wish I could do the same.
Pat yourself on the back. Maybe buy a watch to celebrate? :D

Re: Hamiltons in the Movies

Sure is worthy of the '28 Yanks. Thanks all for the identification. I'd been misled - thought a 1938 film would have had a watch more current so didn't look so far back. Thanks!

Watching TCMs. Came across 1938 "Trade Winds" with Fredric March. At about the 28 minute mark appeared this Hamilton. Don't know what it is.

Re: Hamilton Glendale Wristwatch Question

Randy,
THAT is an incredible watch. Appropriate that it makes its appearance on Christmas.
Keep it safe....especially, if I'm around. :)
