The lyre trademark is likely that of Gallet & Cie.
That's the answer, and more depth can be found here.

Re: 1928 Babe Ruth Watch _ Who made movement?

Interesting. The Internet at large believes these are Benruses. And that was my early suspicion in digging into this based on styling, the "Shock Proof" notation on the dial, and a known connection to Ruth. Until I saw the movement. Presumably no connection to Webb C. Ball?

Re: Need help with model identification

It's a model I particularly like because of its stainless steel case, when most modestly priced Elgins of that era had gold filled cases. I don't know that it would be worth restoring just to sell it. The crystal would only be maybe $20-$30 installed, but if it's not in working condition, that's mor...

Re: Help with Identifying Lady Hamiliton gold/ diamond watch

It's very likely that it's custom, though you'd have to open it and check the inside for markings to be 100% certain. Either way, there isn't much of a collector market for mid-century ladies watches. So, the value tends to be commensurate with the materials, i.e. gold and gem content. But you never...

Re: My $34.50 14 Karat Gold Quadron

But, I would like to know the correct dial configuration. For $35.50, I wouldn't care if it came with a dial, or a movement for that matter. But it is amazing how frequently this model comes up with a rectangular dial. I can't help but suspect that for some reason Gruen had a problem with the stock...

Need Help Identifying 1930s Swiss Rectangular Wristwatch Movement

Looking at a potential purchase, but not interested in a project (missing balance!) if I can't ID the movement. Disregard the fact that it's marked Gruen. It's not a Gruen-made movement and there's no reference to it in any known Gruen literature. The 175 reference has also been a dead end for me. I...

Re: Help with Identifying Lady Hamiliton gold/ diamond watch

Are there any markings inside or outside the back of the case? The reason for asking it that it was not uncommon for jewelers to recase Hamilton movements in custom cases. So the first thing to do is figure out whether this is actually a Hamilton model. If it is, then there will be a Hamilton markin...

Re: Tiffany & Co. Pocket Watch Info

Also, does the repeater function work? It looks like the balance is spinning in the movement photo, so I'm assuming it's running. Which, by the way, you should probably only do on occasion until it's been cleaned and oiled. If I wanted to have the watch serviced, should I take it to Tiffany’s even ...

Re: Tiffany & Co. Pocket Watch Info

Wonder if I could contact Patek or Tiffany’s to see how to further research the watch? You can email Archives@Tiffany.com to inquire. I'm not sure what information they'd have, but maybe something. I would be very surprised if Patek didn't have records of your watch. Here's a link where you can req...

Re: Tiffany & Co. Pocket Watch Info

Also, thanks to the info from this thread, I was able to find this link from a Christie’s auction: https://www.christies.com/lotfinder/Lot/patek-philippe-a-fine-18k-gold-two-train-6050087-details.aspx It shows a watch very similar to mine with a Patek movement, sold to Tiffany’s. The movement numbe...
