Re: My Grandfathers Hamilton Chronomatic - Questions

Yeah, don't have Hamilton do it. Even if they do have the know-how, they will vastly overcharge. I'd say the same of any watch manufacturer. I think Nookster gove you the answer back in 2013. That is so bitchen!!! My gramps wore a Longines......LOL Just awesome!!! Gramps had great taste in watches, ...

Re: Was the Gladiator made in both men's and lady's sizes?

13mm, or 1/2" is fairly uncommon, but it's not that much smaller than 14mm which was very common. I know that's often repeated, yet it doesn't explain why wristwatches were so much bigger in the 20's. I guess I don't tend to think of 1920s watches as being that much bigger than 1930s watches. Re: Hamilton Oval on Ebay.

So, I just checked and there are 3D printers that use 14K gold for the material. Or, they can use the model to make a metal casting and then plate it. Re: A Hamilton by any other name...Vantage!

All these Vantage ads and crazy watches are making me wish I had been around for the late '60s and early '70s. Pretty wild, swingin' stuff.

Re: What is eBay doing now

I'm now getting mixed results clicking on the "see original listing" link. Sometimes it takes me to the original listing, other times it takes me to similar items.

Re: Mystery wrist watch from around 1900

I'd go a little earlier than that, but not around 1900. Why is it that we believe the watch is older than 1918? To my eyes, it looks like it could be from around then, or later, but not much earlier.

Even knowing next to nothing about WWII military watches, the quality of the engraving alone would be enough to make me run.
