Re: 7/8/18 thru 7/14/18

For Thursday The 1956-57 Transcontinental "A" or Time Zone "A" with the correct Kreisler bracelet. I have a spare set of dials and they are off at International Dial being refinished. Thanks to Jim and his tutelage, I was able to make this bracelet 6 3/8" and have a second he did for me for the K-4...

Cool Hammy there, NWI Mark! Today an Elgin "Louiseboulanger," one of Elgin's Parisienne line, went to church with me: http://mrtoad.net/Media/201807WRUW/Elgin_LouiseBoulanger-blue.jpg This was the little watch's first outing. I'd had it a long time but hadn't been able to find the perfect watchband...

Re: WRUW 6/24 through 7/1/2018?

Mr. Funk. Yours is a 17 jewel from 1953. I found it in a book. Funny, because I used to have this same watch. It’s on the left.image.jpg Thank you for helping me identify this one. This means it is WGF, not stainless. There are 2 types of watches I like: Understated elegance and you've plum lost yo...

Forgot to add the price of the Model 4512A; it was $200.00.
Wow! $200. in 1947. You would have had to be the king of somewhere. That's 2,293.25 in todays money. Back then, it would seem that way fewer people had that kind of money to spend on a watch.

Mini Elgin Catalog

Anyone know what year this small brochure or catalog is for? Some of the models are from the 1951 catalog, but some are not. They are all named with model numbers, so I am thinking it is somewhere near 1951. It is about 8 inches tall and has 2 pockets on the inside. There are ladies and mens model i...
