Re: Hamilton TM-2601

What an excellent looking watch! Nice find. Seems like it's one for the photo catalogue.

Is that "circle" on the inside case back damage from the weight?

Re: Black Face Hamilton 20's or 30's??

Hi I'm new to the forum and am trying to identify a family heirloom. I've searched through all the catalogues and cannot find a single black-face example. It's a square design etched on sides, 14 kt gold, 17 jewels. As stamped on the inside case back, it's 14kt gold filled (the 1930's version of go...

Re: Black Face Hamilton 20's or 30's??

The dial on your watch has been refinished to black, it didn't originally come with a black dial. Looks great with a black dial, though. Bryan - This post reminded me of the discussion around SeanO's black dial Tonneau (here: http://vintagewatchforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=297 ). There was a lot ...

Re: FS: Hamilton 'Brooke' 980

Hi Doug Thanks for sharing your sister's watch here. I thought you may be interested in the following. The Brooke has an unusual case geometry (curved to fit the wrist so it sits up for ease of reading) and was only catalogued for sale in 1938 and 1939. These are factors that make it a desirable pie...

Re: Incoming Model 22

Very nice. It looks great to me! Glad you were able to work thing out with the seller and that it found a good new home! Thanks for the compliments @Findingtime I meant to add that the arrival of the model 22 rounds out the deck watch themed part of my collection. There are others that could be had...

Incoming Model 22

Thought I'd make this post because I know I'm not the only one to have recently welcomed a Model 22, 35 size chronometer watch (aka ship's chronometer) after many years of looking. (There's your cue Tom....) There's some excellent online references covering the historic context and restoration of th...

WRUW? Which of the three types of watch wearer are you?

Apologies for perpetuating the male-only watch wearer stereotype but I thought the following was worth sharing.... Adapted from and with acknowledgements to Daniel Senia, Time & Tide Watches: https://timeandtidewatches.com/opinion-3-types-watch-wearers-one/ Perhaps naively, I’ve recently been enlig...
