Re: 1917 WWI Illinois Trench Watch w/ Integrated Crystal Guard, ALL ORIGINAL!

My favorite part of all of this is finding out the back story to these watches!

I love learning about the original owners of watches from 100 years ago.

Re: 1917 WWI Illinois Trench Watch w/ Integrated Crystal Guard, ALL ORIGINAL!

I bought the watch from the original owner's granddaughter eight days ago who lives in the fire ravaged Santa Rosa, California. I tried to contact the seller Janette to see if she is okay but I have not heard back from her yet, hope she got out! Here is a bit more information about the original owne...

1917 WWI Illinois Trench Watch w/ Integrated Crystal Guard, ALL ORIGINAL!

Just finished up with a "sympathetic restoration" on this absolutely incredible 1917 WWI Illinois Trench Watch featuring a sterling silver Fahys "Armored" case. Sympathetic means that only mechanical repairs were done. Yes, Fahys put gold filled crown on their sterling silver cases. The case has a b...

Re: What Ever Happened to Depollier and his Waterproof Case Designs?

It's now on my wrist, arrived safely back to me yesterday afternoon! I could not be more pleased! Rolland's RGM Watch Company did a fantastic job with the movement overhaul, timing is now superb. They installed a brand new mainspring and fixed the cannon pinion issue. https://scontent.fhou1-2.fna.fb...

Re: Hurricane Harvey here in Houston

I lived on St. Pete Beach for 10+ years back in the day.

This is starting to remind me of 2005!

They were just coming in one after another and they ran out of hurricane proper names so they had to start using the Greek alphabet to keep tracking of them.

STAY SAFE ! ! ! !

Re: What Ever Happened to Depollier and his Waterproof Case Designs?

I spoke with RGM this past Friday..............the overhaul and repairs on the ONLY Generation #4 Depollier Waterproof Wrist Watch known to exist have been completed. I'll post new pictures late in the week but they probably won't look any different as ONLY mechanical repairs were done, NOTHING cosm...

Re: Hurricane Harvey here in Houston

FINAL Hurricane Harvey "check-in". Just posted this to friends and family on Facebook: Tiffany and I came through this storm unscathed. The rainfall total for our house was 37.02 inches according to my weather station on the roof. The flood waters never entered our house, we never lost power, intern...

Re: Hurricane Harvey here in Houston

Tiffany and I decided to donate most of our supplies that we bought to ride out the storm, others need them FAR more than we do. There are so many people in need of water, food and supplies. My neighbor Dan jumped in his truck and helped us load everything up and we drove to a refugee shelter about ...
