Re: Incoming late 30s early 40s

Its here, Turns out the movement dates to 1944. A 21 jewel 559 Movement GeneJockey the markers are gilded, on this one and as you can see the face is very clean. Thanks also for the ad, and as I thought in my humble opinion it looked better without the expanding strap I changed it for something that...

Incoming late 30s early 40s

Bottom feeding wins again. :D A nice clean looking example. The seller had it at collection only and most people would not look any further, but if they had they would have seen that the seller would post. Bagged it for a song and cannot wait for it to arrive. Am I right in my dating? Will post more...

Model 4619 from 1950

Just arrived and working Model 4619 Movement 626 dates to 1950 21 jewel and running well in the short time I have had it. I will change the strap as it's a bit short. Nice clean face with chevron markers at 3 & 9. The hands could do with a bit of a clean. Had a quick look but have not been able to f...

Re: Ladies Elgin 50's early 60's

Thank you Magpie I guess I have now got to look out for the king of the sea. I managed to pop open the case did not have a razor blade but I do have feeler gauges which worked after a while. Very green inside so it needs a good service. The Sea Maid is running a swiss 879 17 Jewel movement and the m...

Ladies Elgin 50's early 60's

I purchased this from Ebay for a song. I think its from late 50's or early 60's. It measures 20 mm not including the crown and 28 tip to tip of the lugs. I am sure I have seen the gentlemans version somewhere on this forum recently. Cannot include a shot of the movement as I cannot get the back off....

Re: Hobart Model 6522 from 1955

Yes keeping Greg busy, but he enjoys it as well. My Black Knight also went for a service. I have a couple of old movements that I will have a play with removing hands, removing the dial etc, but as for going any further I am unsure. If I had started this a few years ago things may have been differen...
