Re: Need Help Identifying Vintage Omega

Why not ask Omega?

This case came in other metal combinations, like 14K, but the specifications would be the same.

It looks as if the dial was repainted at some point. Very nice heirloom watch.

The dial and movement probably were together at the beginning. The rest of it?

Not so sure.

Re: 4125 Seamaster bumper automatic?

I’m not sure where the “4125” came from, but that is not the case reference for this model. Here is information from Omega’s Vintage Watch Database: https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-seamaster-calendar-ck-2757 Your suspicions on the dial are well founded. It is most certainly a redial, ...

Re: Has anyone seen one of these?

Here is the correct reference on the Omega Vintage Database: https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-omega-seamaster-de-ville-omega-st-166-0020 IMO, case matches the above. Dial may be original as the "DeVille" designation did not exist in every country. Hands are not correct. Crown is not correct. Movem...

Re: 2018 NCAA Tournament "WatchFanatics" Group

OK. I'm in.

Won't reveal the pick just yet, but I will say that I didn't pick the Gators.

No inside game and inconsistent shooting means a early exit this year.

Re: Jaeger-LeCoultre versus Hamilton - a reverso tale.

Vindication is sweet! I have been saying for years that rumors of lawsuits between Hamilton and JLC make no sense because of the acknowledgement of the US patent on the Reverso case. Thank you Mark for finding these “smoking gun” documents showing the amicable relationship between these giants of ho...

Re: How Do you answer this Question?

If the timing is within a few minutes it is considered acceptable by most vintage horological collectors.
I don’t think the above statement is always true. A lot depend on the movement. On a older pin-pallet Timex, I’m with you. On a 1950’s Omega Constellation Chronometer, absolutely not.

Living in hurricane country, we know the next one could have our name on it. Re: Hurricane Harvey here in Houston

Good to see that you made it through Harvey. Windstorms and floods can be so capricious. It's all the luck of the draw. Having spent a lot of time in the League City/JSC area in another lifetime, my heart breaks when I see the news reports. I've never seen that amount of rain in just a couple of day...
