I've seen this before. A company decides to start giving long term employees a watch after 10, or 15, or 25 years, and have employees that are employed longer. The solution is to give those employees watches retroactively, based on their starting date.

Mark is a better photographer and will post a better picture, but, design wise, you can see that, when making a 14k version of the Boone, the lugs were moved inward to accommodate a 5/8" strap. I am convinced that the factory reference to the watch being a 14k Boone is correct. Mark came up with the solution; I had to think about it but it fits- a narrow Boone without the coin edge.

Something clicked in my head when I saw "Earl C. Anthony". Bingo! he owned radio station KFI in L.A., probably the biggest AM station in SoCal.
