Re: Solid 10K White Gold Hamilton Parker B

I believe it's an Awards Division model, produced after 1962. Hence the scarcity and the "masterpiece" on the dial.

I think the 478 and the other members of the family (472, 506, 590, 540 and others) are actually better LOOKING watches than the equivalent Hamiltons. But hey, that's me! You know I love Elgins! Them's fighting words! Ha ha! http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_bhapG2f5EM/U1xIo9ZUbSI/AAAAAAAAAqI/5GeVhCOafOY/...

Re: ID Help Please

That's what I first thought but it has no small second hand below. It has the more common larger hand fixed in the center along with the minute and hour hand. Oops! How'd I miss that? Value really depends on condition and in as-found condition it's in the neighborhood of $50-$75. Restored it...

Re: For SALE ? Hamilton Wristwatches by Rene Rondeau

I would think the hunt for a book would be easily accomplished - just buy Bruce Shawkey's newer version. It's more complete than Rene's previous book and considerably more realistically priced.

That's a new one for me too... never seen one before. Very cool. I've never seen the leather strap version either.

I guess it's the "plain" version of the one in the middle below, from the 1924 catalog.

For years bf Goodrich radial t/a 14" tires were a perfect match for the muscle care era. They still are but 14" are almost non existent from most manufacturers now.
That's exactly what I put on... once I found them.

Re: Different Type of Vintage

All are nice, but Dan...man, that is one sweet ragtop! I haven't had a vintage car since my old MGB, but I love my four year-old Jeep Wrangler. Life is too short to drive a boring ride! (But you do what you have to do when commuting...) Yeah, I have had this 1967 Firebird since about 1...
