Re: Auto Date Buccaneer?

The 6005 is the gold electroplated version of the Buccaneer and the 5003 is like the 6005 too but with a different bracelet.

Auto Date Buccaneer?

I recently overhauled this 1970s Day and Date model. It's got the number 825002-3 on the back. That number is shared by the Auto Date 5003 or the Buccaneer. The bracelet jives with the Auto Date Buccaneer but the dial doesn't. Any thoughts? https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lK1pcjRW82w/WlqOdBlabdI/AAAAAAAA...

Re: What are the longest 982/980 watches?

Here's what my collection yielded...

Bentley - 39.77
Clark - 42.65
Carlisle = 42.45 (that was surprising, I thought that would win)
Dickens - 42.37
Sutton - 42.78
Winthrop - 42.33 (a dark horse few remember)
Richmond - 40.30
Gilman - 43.70
Linwood - victor at 43.80mm

Re: Rotary watch info and value needed

Quartz watches are pretty unloved. I suspect the value is insignificant unless the case is solid gold.

I believe the hands on the first and last photos are actually the same. Just the lighting makes the hour hand appear skinny.

Re: Hamilton 1955 Gold and Swiss movement?

I think it's actually engraved with a 1960 date, not 1930. Although the engraving looks goofed up so it probably isn't an Awards Division watch. I think it's actually a 1960 Thinline 2000 with the gold dial option.

Re: Post Your Mystery Hamiltons Here.

I don't know if I would so far as to call it a franken but as Tom said, it's a Watson with a slightly incorrect dial. It could be refinished to look original and it was probably already refinished once, but with the Webster pattern. The hands are typically "spear" hands. The Watson has a slightly mo...

Re: Lathe

Interesting... of course you need all the collets, etc. but it would be fun to learn how to use it.
